First, we visit your home, business, or job site to see exactly what you need replaced or installed. Next, we provide you with options that take into consideration cost, upgrading, and efficiency. These options include equipment type, Seer ratings, and size. We offer many different types of equipment, such as Rheem, Trane, and York, to name a few. All are available in 10 to 17 Seer (measure of efficiency), with 17 Seer being the most efficient. Also, all of the equipment is available in 1.5 tons to 20 tons.

Upon your selection of the equipment that best suits your needs, we will provide you with a written proposal. When an agreement is made, we will schedule a date and time that are good for you.

When the job is ready to begin, we lay down drop clothes to protect your carpets and cover any furniture that is near the work site. We remove the old equipment and clean out any debris. Next, we install your new equipment. Once the installation is complete, we will do a final clean up to remove any remaining debris. Finally, we test run your equipment to make sure you are 100% satisfied.

Annual Cleaning Top
You just bought an air conditioner last year or the year before and you think it is running just fine. Well, after running an average of 3000 hours per year, it's tough to stay clean without getting a good bath. And we don't just mean a sprinkle with the hose. (BEWARE: HOSING AN UNGROUNDED OR IMPROPERLY GROUNDED A/C UNIT CAN CAUSE ELECTRICAL DEATH!) You need a professional, such as Bear Contractors trained mechanics, to do a complete diagnostic inspection and thorough cleaning.

Does your service mechanic check for superheat?

There are some good companies out there, but there are also fly by nighters and conartist. A good question to ask your A/C mechanic to see if he is trained is, "How much superheat do I have on the line?" Superheat is the amount of heat over the boiling point which your freon has picked up in the evaporator coil. Superheat is the main aspect when charging an A/C unit. When there is not enough superheat on your line it will cause liquid to get back to the compressor or if there is to much superheat on the line your compressor will run to hot. Both conditions will eventually cause your compressor to fail; costing you hundreds of dollars. The proper amount can only be achieved by using special equipment.

Sometimes people want to know if they can tell if their unit is charged correctly. We always tell them that they must have a professional check for the amount of superheat on the line. This is because an A/C unit can blow colder than normal if the superheat is incorrect. Many people are fooled by this phenomenon.

Fact: All manufacturers require that your unit be serviced annually by a licensed professsional. Many require proof of annual servicing before they will honor a warranty. We provide you with record keeping materials.

Fact: The amount of money saved on your electric bill annually, after having it serviced by us, will more than pay for the cost of your pre-season tune-up.

By choosing Bear Contractors as your professional, you will always have peace of mind knowing that your unit has been professionally serviced with all of the necessary requirements issued by virtually all manufacturers to keep your unit under warranty.
